If you've scrolled this far looking for a contest, you've come to the right place. The Olympics start Friday night at 8:08 PM, and so do the MTMD Page Rank Olympics.
RULES
1. Register for the Page Rank Olympics by leaving a comment here with your current Google PR and Technorati Ranking. All PRs and Technorati Authority Rankings will be verified on Saturday night.
2. Write a post on your blog about this contest and the Olympic Games.
3. Link to this post in your own post.
4. Comment back on this post that you have made your own post about this contest and the Olympic Games.
5. I will link to every participating blog, and author an Olympic-oriented post referencing every participating blog. All participating blogs are encouraged to do the same.
6. Use whatever graphics you want.
7. The blog that has the highest increase in Google Page Rank and Technorati Authority at the close of the Olympic Games on August 24th Wins.
8. Prizes will be awarded on August 31st, 2008.
PRIZES
Gold Medal: The blog that increases the most in both Google Page Rank and Technorati Authority will win a $100 Grand Prize.
Silver Medal: The blog that has the highest increase in Technorati Authority will win a $50 Prize.
Bronze Medal: The blog that has the 2nd highest increase in Technorati Authority will win a $25 Prize.
Note: While it is very unlikely that there will be any change in Google Page Ranks during this time since Google has gone through with an update in Page Ranks, the additional link traffic that this contest will generate may have a positive impact in the next update cycle. Should no Google Page Ranks be updated, prizes will be awarded solely on the increase in Technorati Authority.

Google PageRank is only updated quarterly, and was updated most recently at the end of July, so it won't change by the end of the Olympics. You may want to extend your contest through the end of October, or use Alexa/Technorati or Technorati alone.

Well... That leaves me out. Our submission would be unfair because of our project's methodology.

But it would not be fair to others in my opinion. You might want to check your contestants to see if they are members. I don't want to shoot down my own testers, but I am hoping if they participate with us, that they will consider stepping aside, so as not to take advantage of your contest. I dunno? Maybe the call is up to you?
Lets hope my testers don't get mad for me being here, but that is one of our goals at LBP, to bring back an even playing field among the SE&LI spammers and scammers. Sorry testers if you are reading this, but we all promised to be fair to our peers. :-)

All, thanks for playing...I'm well aware that Google has just gone through an update cycle. But participation now will help the next time the update occurs. In the mean time, participation will generate immediate increases in Technorati Rankings and you will get links and backlinks from my PR 4 Blog.
As much as I'd like to join in the fun, I'm going to watch from the sidelines, since I have no clue how to install all these ranking programs or services into my blog. I acknowledge my ignorance.

Okay Matthew, I signed up for google analytics and technorati authority--rank 412,857. No ranking given by google yet. It tells me that it takes 24 hrs for it to collect data after signing up. I signed up for alexa, and that gave me a ranking. I'm at the very bottom of the ranking file at 2,421,811. Does this count? If not, I still wrote a post advertising your post and contest.
